Written September 1106 – I don't know how many times I need to say goodbye before it will finally sink in that he's never going to hold me again. Four months was far too short but I'm grateful for every second of it. I'm doing my best to make him proud. Wherever he is.
There's nothing left to say.
We knew the risks but did not cease.
You made me believe it would be okay.
My life you gave new lease.
Our time was far too short,
But you filled a lifetime with joy.
You guided me all my troubles to sort,
Your smile your only ploy.
The future looked so bright
With you my life, my love, my home.
I wish our children were born to that light
But you're gone – I'm alone.
But still your love burns strong
Inside me always, come what may.
Despite the pain that will hurt for so long -
I don't regret a day.
