Ghost Story

There's full sunlight on my hair, love,
It turns all to living fire,
Bathing you in its reflected light -
It gilds your hand on my forehead
And turns your tears to golden stones.

There's a cold wind blows about your, love,
It whispers my name around you,
Says, "Let her pass on, let her go."
But you will not hear it,
And you will not let me leave.

There's a winter on your soul, love,
Though summer burns around you,
A grey mist on your heart
That eclipses your own light
And binds you to the ghost you've made.

I want to pass to the blessed place,
BUt your grieving keeps me by -
Without your farewell I cannot leave,
For though dead, you won't let me go.
