Hero Sonnet
Such an art is this hero skill at blades
That many as master cannot be placed,
And, as with such virtue must heroes be made,
This world is rarely with a master graced.
He needs must be with many blessings charmed,
Be keen of mind, in willing courage strong,
With wise wit as well as steel be armed,
And must stand tall above the common throng.
Such a hero would be humbled by praise,
Would be bright as air, yet meek as the earth;
He would pass each night and each of his days
In not knowing the limits of his worth.
Myself, I found such a hero at sea -
A tall, fair master of the waves, and free.
