If I Was A Ladyship
If I was a ladyship,
And in my tower fair
With dresses made of soft green silk,
And em’relds everywhere
With princes courting night and day,
My favours and my hand
By slaying of the dragon
That wanders though the land.
A princess in the tower-
Well what were you expecting
But a dragon and the fire
That it’s expectorating
But what these clods in armour
All fail to under stand
Is, while I’ve alone for yonks,
The dragon’s been on hand.
I’ve really liked the barbeques
Without the fire wood
And dragons big reach to high shelves
Much better than I could!
She’s better than a guard dog,
The thieves run out in fear
And villagers just send me gifts
Whenever she comes near
These knights and princes just don’t get
They’re killing my best friend!
With all their spears and swords and such-
What is it about men?
So if I was a ladyship
And in my tower stone,
I’d give this scaly friend of mine,
A crossbow of her own!
