Is it wrong to worship you both?
From my birth, you’ve been a light
The spark that burns in me.
Since we met, you’ve shined so bright
The flame that sparks for me.
As I walk, you walk beside
A constant friend to me.
As I fight, your face I’ve spied
A comfort there with me.
While I roam, you watch for me
My strength and wisdom told.
While I strive to worthy be
You drive me to be bold.
Every time I’ve sung or told
The words were gifts from you.
Every time inspiration holds
These gifts are gifts for you.
In my dreams, your presence felt
With peace and wisdom’s touch.
In my dreams, my wish is plain
To share with you as much.
As I breathe, I give you thanks
For all your guiding glow.
Yet think of you, and breathing’s lost
My heart it flutters so.
