Remember Me

Remember me as I go now,
Where Rhino waits with beer.
Remember me, and those I love
And leave behind me here.

Remember me, but not if it
Leaves tears in all your eyes.
That isn't how I chose to live,
Nor how I choose to die.

Instead recall, how one and all,
Your lessons I did learn.
What it is to laugh and live,
And what to fall and burn.

Well, so much for the sandwich runs,
And "Jenny-uses" cries,
So much for the all-green threads,
And maps that hurt the eyes.

There is one who was always loved,
By those he can't quite see.
To him- you are still all my joy,
Wherever I may be.

There is one who I ought to love,
But my heart's long since gone.
There will be love for you someday
I'm sure, so please be strong.

And to all those who've done me wrong-
I always did forgive.
Hope you'll forgive me all the wrongs
I did while yet I lived.

So charge your glasses, everyone,
My memory to toast.
Remember me however best
Makes you smile the most.
