Rhyme for a Lover (2)
The wolfen howls the silvery moon,
Whose beauty shines the more,
More now you showed this simple loon,
What beauty’s in your store.
The velvet down, the silken fur,
Does lose me to its touch,
Those bounteous curves do much defer,
To have you in my clutch.
The dancer’s grace, the hunter’s poise,
The form so strong and slender,
Life’s true beauties joined enjoys,
The devotion I’ll attend her.
***
Thou art the beauteous moon, that shines and lights the way,
The glistening silvery ghost of love that ever did hold sway.
And though you now have taught me that the moon is ever glowing,
It’s beauty pales forever more, your features for the knowing.
The silken velvet touch of fur, that soft and sensuous pelt,
That frames those curves and looks so fine,
All resistance sure to melt.
