What am I Without You?
I have come on so far, from where I began,
A raggle-taggle bard run away from the scram;
And now I stride mountains awash with Your Light,
Driving out evil, giving demons a fright.
I found myself visiting the Dragons of Old,
Where the foe haunts the night as we march in the cold;
But I fear not the night while I walk in Your Light,
Remembering your beauty – an emboldening sight.
As mage bolts were flying, corruption was rife,
Thoughts of you like shields that kept saving my life;
As I banished the ghouls with blasts of Your Light,
The warmth of your touch countered the cold of the wights.
When finally we found him, the old deadly liche,
I pictured you smiling – which has always bewitched;
As I smote down our foe, blades wreathed in Your Light,
My strength of devotion wrought flames burning bright.
As it crashed to the ground, to You I gave thanks,
And the unliving horde fell down rank by rank;
For triumph meant finally a return to your side,
A prize for which gladly I have often near died.
If that is the power from afar you ignite
Imagine us together bringing Light to the Night.
