Summary of Events and Decisions, Dragons Parliament 1107
By Midshipman Brother Mattiel, Erin Navy

BRIEF SUMMARY: Weather good, food awesome, violence surprisingly low.

THINGS THAT REALLY MATTER:
1) Still not at war with the Harts, as Rhodri said 'only a fool starts a war in winter'. Harts at the Gathering outnumbered us and had better weapons.
Use the winter to learn skills, make weapons, and prepare. Kumman will not be forgotten, expect action in spring.

2) Culwch of the Hounds of Cuhlain is dead, presumed murdered. He disappeared on the Friday night, and consultation with the ancestors confirms his demise. His remains and possessions are still being sought by the local Uruks and others.
Culwch is the second of the Hounds this year to have died while with the warband under suspicious circumstances (Flar being the first). While Flar could have been killed by our various enemies, Culwch disappeared from a parliament in the middle of Dragon lands (and there were no attacks on the camp throughout the entire parliament). The Ard Brehon is looking into both deaths.
Whether we face traitors within our ranks or talented enemy assassins, everyone should be on their guard. We lost a Dragon (and I lost a friend) in the middle of our own lands during a peaceful celebration. Such losses cannot be allowed to continue, nor can they go unanswered.

3) Balor has invaded Galway. A daring raid by a Dragon force (which I was privileged to join) slipped behind enemy lines by night and killed the Fey Captain leading the force (as well as at least one Fomor). I could barely see past the end of my nose, but our scouts did awesome work regardless of the dark, and we suffered no losses. We can only hope that this halts or slows the invasion, before winter takes its toll.

4) A group was sent to speak to Bloduedd, Lady of Flowers, about Hafgan (this because it had been ordered by Pwll when he appeared to us at the Gathering). She set us a number of tasks which we will be looking into over the coming year.

5) Someone was raising undead beastkin within a few miles of the camp. A dragon warband consisting mainly of our beastkin went out, destroyed all the undead and killed the necromancer who was raising them. However it is believed that this necromancer was acting under orders. Investigations are ongoing into who is responsible and how they got so close.

6) The Druids of Caer Dannon tested the Dragons, and the group sent passed all but one of the tests.

FUN AND GAMES:
Many competitions took place, although a few did not due to time issues. Circle of Treachery was won by Grey, as was the foot race. Hesk won the Bardic competition, and the incantors and mage duel was a three-way draw between Admiral Lucius, Triss’Tyr and Padraig ap Taran.. The Dal Riadan team won the jugger tournament, but the Slieve Under-21s looked prettiest.
Melawen won the scout competition.

The Pit Fighting competition was won by a non-dragon prince called Ivwar. He was however a former Dal Riadan, which explains things somewhat.
The Archery competition was a draw between Righ Pinta and a member of the Wolves faction.
Galleons was won by a team led by Celadius.

There were two marriages and a divorce during the proceedings, as well as much telling of tales. Also Meisgwyn told us of the traditions of this time of year.
The Monkey (with the Ujack gnolls) was both spanked and humped. It also spanked and humped others, and was an awesome Quick in Jugger. Honourable mention also goes to the doom diver from the goblin suicide squad, who was Quick on my team.

I performed my first ever song in front of the Dragons, it was humorous and about the Erin navy, and seemed popular. I shall sing it again sometime for those (including Grand Admiral Troy and Admiral Maverick) who were not present.

Acting Admiral Tartus didn't lose another navy. Hurrah!
