The Boys of Beth Horon
(To the tune of the “Boys of Bedlam” by Steeleye Span)
For to see the boys of Beth Horon
Ten thousand miles I’ve travelled
My Journey goes on magical flows
For to save my shoes from gravel
Still I sing bonny boys
Bonny mad boys
Beth ‘ron boys are bonny
Well they all fight fair
And they live without care
And they’ll fight for drink or money
I went down to Satuun’s kitchen
For to get me food one morning
And there some poor soul’s by piping oil
There ‘on the spit a turning
Chorus
Me sword has murdered giants
And me back a long knife carries
But I cut mince pies from children’s thighs
With which to feed the faeries
Chorus
The Spirits White as lightening
Would on me travels guide me
The moon would shake and the stars would quake
Whenever they espied me
Chorus
And when that I go murder
The man in the moon to a powder
His staff I’ll break and his dog I’ll shake
And then I’ll know demon louder
Chorus
First verse
