Everybody's Dead!
Music by Cosaint

Well bards, we often seems depressed
And in rhyme we’re seldom cheery,
Our songs, they often tell of doom,
But why? The answer's easy!
We write of pain, of death and horror,
Of trials and torments hard,
For dark destinies and all that gloom
Come easily to bards!

"It’s more moving!" We tell the singers,
"It's more dramatic!" The writer cries,
"It's more emotional," They tell the actors,
"When everybody dies!"

We try to write about happiness,
We try to write about joy,
We try for a happy ending
To the tale of girl meets boy.
But no matter how many rewrites,
The outcome was always the same,
And it couldn’t be made funny
That he died and she went insane!

"It’s more moving!" We tell the singers,
"It's more dramatic!" The writer cries,
"It's more emotional," They tell the actors,
"When everybody dies!"

One great last stand, doomed to failure,
Death just as the bad guy's beaten,
Lover's dying in each other's arms
And kings from something they've eaten!
Yes, misery's not hard to write,
It's easier to tell,
Why write about kittens or puppies
When you can write about going to hell?

"It’s more moving!" We tell the singers,
"It's more dramatic!" The writer cries,
"It's more emotional," They tell the actors,
"When everybody dies!"
