A cold wind blows in from the harbour
A storm that lashes down with no relief
To where a fey sits waiting weeping for an absent daughter
But nothing in the world will ease this grief
And so I cling to all I can remember
Focus on her face with all my might
Her eyes of dragon green look down on me from empty spaces
But then fade away like a ghost at dawn’s first light
But my memories betray me
As every day they slide from view
Is there no charm to fix her in my mind forever

Time wipes faces from the statues of heroes,
Erases names from the plaques up on the wall
As months and years go by, grave may be left untended,
Flowers wilt and monuments will fall
It fell to me to keep your memory burning
And so I hold your name up like a torch into the dark,
This is my farewell to you oh Anri my beloved daughter,
I’ll carry you forever in my heart.
And though my memories betray me,
An every day she slides from view,
But I hope that you can hear me as I sing your name into the night sky,
