Heroes (Another Dawn)

We are all heroes, survivors of our past,
Marching ever onwards, until we die at last.
Friendships ever made and broken
Hopes and fears anew are woken
Pray for aye good fortune when the die is cast.

[another song around the fire
another mead-horn raised higher
another death to mourn
another battle we have won
a mother's lost another son
and we'll still see another dawn.

We are all heroes, we live to save the day,
fighting or healing, every one has his own way,
singing songs of hope and glory,
inside we weave a different story,
Weeping for a loved one when in bed we lay.

[chorus]

We are all heroes, we do all for Lord and Lands,
But our actions are accountable to our own hands.
we follow orders as they're sent
then we go home to repent
The foe's sons we left bleeding on the burning sands.

[chorus]

We are all heroes, but heroes come and go,
Which ones will be remembered, only time may show,
Try to live a life that's just,
Ask not why, do what we must,
And reflect on it in silence as the embers glow.

[chorus]

We were all heroes, courageous heart and soul,
The seasons never changed us as we worked towards our goal.
Remember us around your fire
Raise your mead-horns ever higher
Mourn the fall of heroes when you hear the bell toll.

One last song around the fire
One last drink to light the pyre
One final death to mourn
The last battle wasn't won
A mother's lost her only son
And he'll not see another dawn.
