Heroes' Death

When I was young I sat around the fire with my kin
Singing songs and tales of the knights of 'Fin
While we smoked the southern star
The danger from afar
Transformed our clannies' lives for ever more.

I remember Marcus was exceptional among men
A valiant heart, kind father and good friend
But if he had even known
That his doom was far from home
He'd still have left to fight and for you and I.

Chorus
Let the heroes lie
But never die
Within our hea-arts
All their names live on

As the kids all sit around at Hearth and Hame
And I tell stories of the McGregor thane
How he bested the chief formor
In the circle of magic ward
Inspiring all our boys to greater highs.

Chorus

Now they both are gone to fight in Cerridwen's halls
And I have no pipe with me for one last draw
But I can see the southern star
Calling me to where they are
For the sadness inside blows away all my sighs.

Chorus x2
