My Love is Blind
My true love never will behold my face,
For her eyes are filled with empty space,
She'll never see me smile as she draws near,
And yet she moves around with wonderous grace.
Her black hair falls in plaits below her belt,
Down her back, whose curves I've never felt.
That long soft hair as dark as midnights wing,
The sight of it's enough to make me melt
I know she’ll never see the love I hold inside of me,
And though I’d sacrifice my world for her, she’ll never know.
My love is blind.
Her sweet voice falls so gently 'pon my ear,
That voice which thrills my very soul to hear,
She speaks with accents of her native home,
That accent which doth make her tones so dear.
Alas, I fear I'll never be her mate,
My feelings she does not reciprocate.
I'll never share my life with my dear one,
Though for her love, I am prepared to wait.
My love is blind.
