Stand Tall

For the ones who did fall
For the ones who live on
For the friends that I see
And the brothers long gone
For the hopes I believe
Though my senses say not
For the blood that runs cold
While the passions run hot
For the young ones that cry
Over grown men's screams
For their unspoken promies
And broken dreams
How could I believe that I
Have earned the right to sit and cry
When all 'round me life carries on?

Stand tall and unbowed
There's an end to every night
Though it hurts, though it burns
Though we bleed, still we learn
While we live we will carry the light

On the planes a flame burns
And it can't work out why
We would feel so bereft
When all that lives must die
But more still it can't know
How someone who is dead
Can still carry us on
With their words left unsaid
How if they came again
If only for one day
We could look in their eyes
And feel no shame to say
Brother though you had to leave
And though I took the time to grieve
I'm living now and your dream lives on

Stand tall and unbowed
There's an end to every night
Though it hurts, though it burns
Though we bleed, still we learn
While we live we will carry the light

For the ones who did fall
For the ones who live on
For the friends that we see
And the family gone
For the binds that still forge us
And so keep us strong
For the morrow we seek
When today's gone so wrong
Will you hold your head high?
Will you see the new dawn?
Will you raise up your voices
And sing though you mourn
Though it hurts and though it sears
I see the way forth through the tears
And somewhere I know you'd be proud

Stand tall and unbowed
There's an end to every night
Yes it hurts, yes it burns
Yes we bleed, still we learn
While we live we will carry the light
