The Glory, Sword, and Song

They say we’re all heroes and never to grieve,
For the wives that we love and the children we leave.
They say all you need is a sword at your side
And a bright scarlet coat, off to fortune we ride.

For we’re bound to the glory, the sword and the song
We’ll count all the gold when the battles are won.
So come raise your glass make a cry from yer heart
We’ll drink and we’ll sing ‘til the next battle start

We ride by the standard our muscles like steel
Our foes all rocked back by the blows that we deal.
Standing strong with my comrades I never shall die
For I’ll fight like a hero as I scream me war cry

CHORUS

The skirmish my brother, my blade be my wife
The sword my protection from trouble and strife
The sword my red vengeance, the steel of my heart
And courage to keep me from the funeral cart.

CHORUS

So raise up your swords leave your troubles behind
Rain down like the thunder, let your thrust be unkind
For all that you need can be found in the fight
So race on me heroes to claim yer birthright

CHORUS

The scarlet me war paint, the scarlet me coat,
My sword in yer guts and me knife in yer throat
I’ll bare yer down easy as you slip from me blade
Freefighters keep fighting ‘til the gold it be paid.

CHORUS

The Thistle, me colour, the code and me friends
They’ll all be beside me, right through to the end
We’ll all live in stories, we’ll all live in song
To fight on forever though our bodies have gone

CHORUS

They say we’re all heroes and never to grieve,
For the wives that we love and the children we leave.
They say you’re all heroes and never shall die,
With a bright scarlet coat, and a sword by yer side.
