The Island
And now the skies are level and are burning,
Those mighty cedars bleeding in the heat.
Our heroes dying on the battlefi-eld
And there are children dying in the street.
So I make sure we all remember,
How the mighty Clan MacTrew they bled for us,
They're fighting to carve tomorrow from the void gate.
But hey, don't listen to me...
Because this wasn't meant to be no sad song,
We've heard too much of that before.
Right now we're looking on towards the future
As the morning dew comes falling.
I wanna take you to the Island
And trace your footprints in the sand,
Out in the evening when the sun goes down
We'll curl up to the sound of the ocean.
Remember - there was a young an' pretty lass,
Her red hair flying on the seaward breeze.
The Red Queen grieving for her fallen Sori,
As many fallen as the woodland trees.
And now the brothers are together,
The almighty Douglas united once more,
And with Steel they are heading home into glory.
But hey, don't listen to me...
Because this wasn't meant to be no sad song,
I've sung too much of that before,
Right now we're looking on towards the future
As the morning dew comes falling.
I wanna take you to the Island
And trace your footprints in the sand,
Out in the evening when there's no one around
We'll curl up to the sound of the ocean.
Now we must make sure we tell every story,
The clansmen so brave they gave up their lives,
And of the many clans they left behind them,
They gave their lives without a look behind.
And so this bitter fighting for our future,
Will bring us all together in the end,
As we go marching down the road to freedom,
Freedom.
