Treeman

Em  G
There's a bard on his knees
D  Am
On the ground before my tree
Em  Bm  D
And his tears make my roots grow strong
Em  G
In his heart, in his dreams
D  Am
I'm the nightmare when he screams
Em  Bm  Em
I'm the dark that lasts so long
G  D
I'm his pain, I'm his grief
Am  Em
I'm anguish beyond relief
G  D  Bm
I'm his dark emotions bleak
Em  G
Grant me fear, grant me awe
D  Am
Grant me all these things and more
Em  Bm  Em
Pity me for I am weak

Think of me when you cry
Know that all that lives must die
Know the truth, but please do fight
Fight the start, fight the end
Fight the visions I will send
Know despair and feed my vines
When your fire goes cold
Fall into my leafy folds
Be my thrall and so live on
But don't leave me alone
I can't feed off the cold stone
I'll wither if you are gone

Now I'm cold and bereft
In the silence they have left
And my roots can reach no man
There's no sound but birdcall
For no foot will ever fall
In the clearing where I stand
None now to take my words
To the lands where the'yll be heard
And without regard I wilt
As the darkness turns in
Can I feed off my own sin?
Can I feed off my own guilt?

And the bards turns their backs
As the bark begins to crack
Not for me shall tears be spilt
