The Story of Julius
This story came to light at the Open Grand Council of 1105 - and is explained here
Julius was the emperor of a nation that stretched across many lands. Before him, evil stalked the lands, terrible winds blew, and parent huddled with their children in corners to try and protect them. Terrible creatures of evil stalked the lands - reptilian voices calling innocents out into the dark. Crops turned to dust, the fish were bloated.
The people turned to a shrine of Julius. He gave a man a vision - the shrine was a boat and it would take them to where they could swap treasures for food. People brought forward valuables and boarded the boat. Great warriors such as Tarquin the Great sailed in it. What do people prize above all things? Their children. They sent their children to the Empire so as not to starve and Julius would look after them.
A man spoke to Julius, who asked for his treasure to be brought forward. The man handed him treasure and Julius struck out and killed him - he wished no man to value gold above life. Julius took them home and they were taken to be slaves. Julius gave great speeches in an amphitheatre against this, but the people became hostile and shouted against him.
He retreated and entrusted the children of his empire to his most trusted men. They gathered them to safe places, though some died in the doing. Julius brought a great wave to wash the lands clean of greed and founded an empire of honour that valued its people., regardless of wealth or status. His reign was long and happy, people rejoiced and his name lived in memory.
Over time, the people died and fewer told the story of his glory. It is important we remember. This story was retold at the OGC 1105 to save Julius from vanishing.
